The charts below show the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time doing housework and households in one country between 1920 and 2019.
The two line graphs given illustrate how uses of electrical devices and time spent on doing housework and households change in 1920 and a century later-2019 in a particular country.
Overall, the percentage of electrical appliances used for households rose rapidly and the number of hours spent on housework was reduced fifth times.
Regarding the first picture, in 1920, the washing machine was used up to 40%, followed by 30% of the refrigerator, whereas the vacuum cleaner was almost useless with 1%. The years later, the proportion of using vacuum increased significantly, reached the peak at 100% in 1980, and remained to 2019.
As the same trend, fridge consumption also rose dramatically to 100% in 2000 and on the mount until 2019. However, the percentage of washing machines rose slowly and witnessed the fluctuation during 1960 and 2000, finally ending with 72% in total.
The data in the second picture shows that the total time of housework each week decreased considerably from 50 hours to around 10 hours in the end.
