The charts illustrate why students from different age groups continues their studies and the the support they receive from their employers in term of money and time off.
Overall, it is obvious that young people’s main focus for education is their career whereas it is mostly passion when they become older. Moreover, young employees obtain more support from their employers regarding their education.
The first chart shows that there is a gradual decline in education for the benefit of students’ career based on their age groups. While about 80% of people under 26 years old study for career reason, which is the highest proportion of students continuing their education for this reason, seven of ten people over 49 years old become to learn for personal interest. Only 10% of this age group do it from career. Additionally, an equal percentage of students, aged 40 to 49, study for both reasons.
According to the second chart, younger people under 26 years old receive more help from their employers for education, accounting for over 60%. This percentage drop with the growth of age and at 30 to 39 age group only 32% employees are supported by their employers. After that, this number increase at the higher age group, who are over 49 years old, standing at nearly 45%.
