Given are six pie charts indicating the comparison of water consumption in six districts throughout the world. A glance at the data provided reveals that industrial aim is the primary reason of using water in affluent areas. Agriculture, nonetheless, is chief among all causes in terms of developing areas.
In Europe, the majority of water employs in industry, makes it the first consumer in this field. Agriculture and domestic use come to the second and third place with 32% and 15%, respectively. Following a same trend, approximately half of water in North America is utilized in industry, remaining a 39 percent for agriculture and 13 percent for domestic requirements.
In a stark contrast, in the case of less affluent regions, agriculture has the pivot role to play in water consumption. In all mentioned regions –namely Central, South America, Africa, and South East Asia- more than 70 percent of water is dedicated to farming. In central Asia just a negligible 5% and 7% percent of water consumes in domestic and agricultural matters makes it the first user of water for agriculture and the last in other purposes.
Overall, first in the terms of consuming water for industry is Europe while in the case of agriculture, central Asia takes the place.
