The pie chart illustrates the proportion of water usage in five various sectors including, building, household, manufacturing, food, and service industry in Australia in 1997 and 2007.
Overall, a major portion of the water was used by the food industry in both years, however after ten years there was a huge increase in water use in the service sector.
In 1997, 48 percent of water was used for the food industry which was reduced to 41% in 2007. Similarly, the manufacturing industry accounts for 15% in 1997 which was also deducted to 11% by 2007. Furthermore, the water usage of the building industry has some reduction from 1997 to 2007 with three percent.
In contrast, the manufacturing and household usage of water have increased from 19%to 21% and 13% to 25% respectively after ten years from 1997.
