The graph shows a comparison between reasons why people going to work by cycling or driving. Health and fitness, less pollution, safety, comfort etc. are the criteria on which the comparison has been done.
In the first pie chart, the two major reasons for choosing cycling over the driving is health & fitness and less pollution. This shares equal part and sums up to 60% of the population who prioritize cycling over driving. Rest of the reasons why people go to work by cycling is that they do not have to face parking problem and it cost no money to them as cycle does not require any kind of fuel. Moreover, there are some cases where people feel it takes lesser time to travel by bicycle then by driving a car. These three cases 'no parking problem', 'no cost' and 'faster than driving' shares nearly equal part of the pie chart.
Looking at the second pie chart, the major reason why people prefer driving over cycling is because of their comfort. Around 40% of the total driving population want to travel in comfortable environment. The second greatest reason is the distance to work which sums up to 21%. 14% believe driving is faster than cycling (so why waste time?) and they have to carry things to work. Some people are conscious about their safety, these are 11% of the driving population.
We can compare both the pie charts and it is very lucid that people have altogether different reasons why they prefer driving or cycling. People are conscious about their safety, health, time to work, and about the environment too. There are mix batches of people who have their own reason why they prefer cycling over driving or the vice versa.
