The charts below show the results of a survey of adult education. The first chart
shows the reasons why adults decide to study. The pie chart shows how people
think the costs of adult education should be shared.
Write a report for a university lecturer, describing the information shown below.
You should write at least 150 words.
The given bar-chart details the various reasons as stated by adults(percentagewise) for furthering education, while the proportional share of the cost is provided in the pie-chart.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the majority of adults take it ahead as their interest in the subject or to gain qualification. However, very few simply love to socialize with different people. Moreover, the cost as a whole is preferred to be shared among three groups: individual, the employer, and tax payer.
As is given in the illustration, exactly 2 in every 5 adults decide based on the liking of the subject, compared to 38% who pursue the same for acquiring the qualifications. In addition, whilst 22% of the adults gain benefits in the existing job, about one-fifth of the total use it either for job promotion or as a study hobby, and merely 12% and 9% apply for a job change and enhancing their circle respectively.
Turning to the costs, the individual is expected to contribute nearly two-fifth of the total cost as against 35% share by the employer. Moreover, nearly one-fourth of the expenses should be covered under the tax.
