The illustration depicts the percent wise consumption of nutrients like Sodium, Saturated fat and Added sugar in various meals of the day which include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks by an average person in the USA. The above-mentioned nutrients pose a risk to the health of the person if it is consumed a lot.
Overall, Sodium and Saturated fats which are 43% and 37% respectively, are in the highest content for dinner, whereas the same nutrients have a much less percentage of intake i.e., 14% and 16% respectively for breakfast. Added sugar has the highest consumption (42%) in snacks.
When comparing Breakfast and Snacks, the intake of Sodium remains at a constant of 14%, while for Saturated fat the value changes from 16% to 21% respectively. There is a massive amount of intake of Added Sugar in Snacks which is 42%, as compared to just 16% in Breakfast.
Moving on to lunch and dinner, sodium and saturated fat have the highest intake of 43% and 37% respectively for dinner. For lunch both sodium and saturated fat have almost same percentage of intake, for sodium it is 29% and for saturated fat it is 26%. Added sugar has the value of 19% for lunch and 23% for dinner.
