The given charts reveal the data of the proportion of using five different means of transport to travel to one university in a 5-year period from 2004.
Overall, it is clear that among all the mentioned vehicles, car and bus were the two most prevalent means and most used by people. Meanwhile, citizens didn’t keen on traveling by train and walking.
In 2004, more than a half of people used car for commuting to school . Bus occupied the second highest position with a ratio that was only slightly lower than cars , at 33% . In the next 5 yeas, an opposite pattern occurred with these 2 figures. In detail, the number of car users decreased significantly to 28% , while a rise of more than 10% was seen in the proportion of those who traveled by bus
Moreover there were still a few people didn’t choose car or bus, instead, cycling, walking and going by train were their means of transport. Just about 3% and 4% citizens preferred to go to university by train and walking respectively. These numbers finally slightly climbed up to 4 and 6% . However, they were still the least popular means of transport used.
In addition, only 9% of commuters enjoyed riding a bike , which was about three times the percentage of train passengers. In the final year . the rate of bike rider also increased by 7%
