The diagram below show the life cycle of a species of large fish called the salmon.

The diagrams provided illustrates how the salmon, which is a quite large fish among its pieces, lives in its whole life.
It is clear that the salmons need to go through three important stages in their life cycle. In each stage, their size changes significantly than the previous step.
First of all, the salmons’ eggs lay around small stones under reeds for approximately 6 months in the slow moving upper river before they move to the lower river where water flow faster. At this later stage, they are called fry, a small salmon infant, whose size varies from 3 to 8 centimetres. After 4 years, their size continues to change into 12 to 15 centimetres and they will be called smolt at this period. They will be identified as adult salmons when their size reaches 70 to 76 centimetres and they live in open sea areas. Where they will spend 5 years of living. At this final stage, they are able to produce eggs in the similar environment they were born before.
