The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.
The map displays the floor plan of a public library two decades ago compared to itself these days.
All things considered, it can be seen that the area witnesses a significant modernization in every part of the library to satisfy the desire for technological use.
Firstly, there are striking transformations in four corners of the Central library. On the top-left, there used to be a place for technological devices, which is then converted to an area for not only storytelling events but also children’s fiction books. At the bottom of the left-hand side, a computer room now replaces the reading room. Both the children’s books room and the enquiry desk are made way for a lecture room and a café respectively on the top and bottom right.
Secondly, an area for all reference books currently stands in the position of the old adult fiction books which is now sharing the room with information desk and self-service machines. 20 years ago, there used to be a couple of tables and chairs in the library center, yet those are removed from the area.
