The diagram illustrates the production of electricity in a hydroelectric power station. Overall flows from river into a high level reservoir and end with the transmission of power lines to national generator.
It can be clearly seen that the first step is collect water in a high level reservoir when the generation begins the water passes through an intake which is in the bottom of dam. The intake opens in the day allows the flow of water to generate electricity and is closed at night the water flows out into the river below the dam during pumping. The next step is the transportation of water into a reversible turbines which is connected with generator in power station. In the day the generator is operated that water flow down into low level reservoir at night the reversible turbines pum water into high level reservoir finally the generator in power station is linked with power lines which are used to transport electricity to national generator.
