Overall, there are five main steps in the process of producing electricity in a geothermal power plant, beginning with cold water being pumped into the ground and ending with a generator.
In the first step, cold water is pumped down exactly 4.5 km into the injection well underground. Following this, water will be transfer through the geothermal zone with hot rocks, which will heat the water up with extreme temperature as it passes through, before entering the production well.
Next, after being heated underground, hot water will then be pumped up into a condenser where it is transformed into steam to prepare for the last step. The final stage of the process is the production of electricity using a turbine made spinning by steam from the condenser to power the electricity generator. Electricity will then be distributed to the electrical grid network from the geothermal power plant.
