The illustration depicts the process of producing leather goods in the factory. In general, there are eleven steps, beginning with making the animal skin dry and ending with completed leather commodities.
In the first stage, animal skin is exposed to a dry environment before being transported to the factory by a lorry. At this place, water and lime is used for cleaning up dust from the skin and soaking. It then will be flattened by a flattening machine to remove all the liquid of the former stage.
Afterwards, a mixture of water and vegetable matter called tannin is used for soaking for a second time. Next, the piece of skin will be polished by a special tool before being packaged to put in freight transports. In the final analysis, the sub-prepared skin will be taken to other factories for producing leather goods such as shoes, sandals and purses, to name but a few.
