The diagram below shows the process by which bricks are manufactured for the building industry.
There are five stages by which bricks are manufactured then packaged and delivered to the consumers.
In the process of manufacturing bricks, a machine called digger is used in the first stage to excavate clay from the ground then the excavated clay is placed into a metal grid which is removed oversize of pieces and dropped into a large roller for the second stage. Afterwards the clay is passed through sand and water whereby either wire cutter or mould is used to form bricks in the third stage. Then in the fourth stage,the bricks are installed inside a drying oven where they are kept for a period of 24 to 48 hours. For the fifth stage, the bricks are moved to the first kiln for a moderate temperature from 200°c to 980°c then moved to the second kiln for a high temperature from 870°c to 1300°c then carried over to the cooling chamber where it is cooled for a duration of 48 to 72 hours.
After the whole process, the bricks are now packaged and loaded into the truck to be delivered to the consumers.
