The diagram below shows the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and how comment is used to produce concrete for building purposes
The diagram represents the steps and equipment required for cement production and concrete preparation for construction. Overall, cement is the final product produced from two key raw materials which is further used for the construction of buildings by creating the proper mixture of different resources to build strong infrastructure.
Initially, raw ingredients such as limestone and clay were ground to produce powder in the crusher. Then, powdered mixed is thoroughly agitated in mixer. Mixed materials then passes through rotating heater where high temperature is maintained. The heated mixture again moves towards the grinder to create the final product i.e. cement. Finally, cement is packed in the bags for storage and selling purposes.
For the cement to use in building construction, a complex mixture has to be prepared. Mixture consists of 15% cement, 25% sand and 50% gravel with small stones. Consequently, 10% water is added to above prepared mixture which is then mixed in rotating concrete mixer to produce the resources required for building construction.
