The diagrams illustrate how the internal layout of the ground floor of a museum should be changed. At a glance, it is possible to see that the main entrance will be on a different street and some rooms will no longer be present.
The museum is adjacent to three streets: Spring, Patterson and Josephine street. Currently, the entrance in on Spring Street, but in the future, it will be on Patterson street. This change involves mainly the marine life room, and the called walkway together with the position of the lifts.
The marine life is planned to be moved from the corner close to Josephine Street to the position where there is the main entrance now. Two new rooms will be built on the Josephine street side: the modern art room and the storeroom. Another main change is that the two lifts will be smaller and adjacent to the atrium because in such an area the new main entrance will take place. Another minor change is that the gemstone room which will be enlarged.
