The graph illustrates the 4 means of transportation (bus, car, bike and foot) used by travellers in European city in 1960 to 2000.
Overall, the mode of travelling by car increased steadily while others decreased. In 1960, the percentage of people that walked was higher and was about34%, however, percentage of people started reducing in 1980 to around 17% and reduced to the lowest in 2000 to around 9%. Moreover, in 1980, the highest mode of transport that people used was by bus around 26%. The percentage was lower in 1960 and decreased in 2000(18% and 16%) respectively.
Furthermore, in 1960, the least percentage was recorded for the people that travelled by car around 6%. However, the use of car started to rise in 1980 among the people in the city to around 23% and it reached its peak in 2000 when the highest percentage of travellers using car was 35%.
