The first chart below shows the results of a survey which sampled a cross-section of 100,000 people asking if they travelled abroad and why they travelled for the period 1994-98. The second chart shows their destinations over the same period.

There are two tables provide information about the number of UK residents visits abroad and the reason of traveling abroad between 1994 to 1998 and their destinations during that period. Overall, more UK people travel abroad and more people were for holiday and more people visited to western and others areas.

Total number of UK residents visited abroad and rising by more than 6800 people from 1994 to 1998 and especially aims to have holiday which from 15246 (1994) rose to 20700 (1998). Those who visited for business, visits to friends and relatives, and other reason both rose by more than 800, 500 and 8 people respectively. All of the numbers are increased steadily.

Those who visited Western are increased sharply which from 1937 (1994) rose to 24519 (1998). For the North region increased steadily rising by more than 900 people. For the other areas also have a slightly rises of visitors form 1782 (1994) to 2486 (1998). Overall, more UK residents travel abroad and visit different countries.
