The pie charts illustrate, how Americans spent for seven different commodities in the years 1966 and 1996. Units are measured in percentage.
Overall, at the beginning of the period, food contributed to the most significant expenditure in american citizen, while, the least amount spent for computers. In comparison, at the end of he period, the lowest amount used for books and the biggest expenditure made by cars in residence of America.
Computers accounted for mere 1% in 1966 and experienced a more than 9% in 1996. Expense of restaurant was 7% in 1966 which is doubled to 14% after 30 years of period. Moreover, the overwhelming majority of expense for car increased to near half of the budget with 44% in 1996, which was 23% in 1966.
Food comprise of almost half of the expenditure (44%) in 1966 which declined 30% by the end of the period and reached to 14%. Similarly, the proportion of expense for furniture, and book were decreased from 10%, and 6% to 8% and 1% respectively. Furthermore, expenditure of petrol was decreased mere 1% from the starting period to 8% by 1996.
