The provided pie charts give information about how much money people in America spent on seven different categories over the course of thirty years starting from 1966. Overall, in 1966, food was chosen to be the most popular choice, whereas the highest percentage of consumption in 1996 belonged to cars.
In 1966, the single majority was in fact food which cost approximately the half. Cars and furniture were also very significant proportion at 23% and 10% respectively. The remainings accounted for nearly a quarter and computers was the least type to use, with just below 1%.
By sharp contrast to this, in 1996, food was no longer to be the most favorite category than car which was took up about half. Restaurants and food were on the same quantity, at 14%. The other constituted about nearly one fourth which hit the lowest peak, around 1%.
