The energy generated by gas was the second-largest source of energy in France both year, with the corresponding figures in two years was 29.63% and 30.31% respectively. On the contrary, production by petrol witnessed a significant decrease by 10% to approximately one-fifth of the total energy generated in the year later. Meanwhile, there was also an upward trend in the proportion of energy produced from nuclear as the figures went up from 6.4% to 10.10%.
