The two pie charts give information about the amount of energy produced from different sources in France in 1995 and 2005.
Overall, coal constituted the main source of energy production in both years, while others produced the least. There was a sharp decrease in the production of petrol, whereas an increase can be seen in the figures for other kinds of energy.
The amount of energy produced by coal in 1995 accounted for nearly a third of the total output before experiencing a rise to 30.93% in a decade. In contrast, other types of energy made up a small fraction (nearly 5%) in 1995, then, this figure rose dramatically to 9.10%
The energy generated by gas was the second-largest source of energy in France both year, with the corresponding figures in two years was 29.63% and 30.31% respectively. On the contrary, production by petrol witnessed a significant decrease by 10% to approximately one-fifth of the total energy generated in the year later. Meanwhile, there was also an upward trend in the proportion of energy produced from nuclear as the figures went up from 6.4% to 10.10%.
