However, water used for farming had steady and increasing tendency till 1950 (about 1100 square kilometres), followed with surged increase to about 3000 square kilometres in 2000. Industrial and domestic use experienced almost similar steady trend from initiation roughly 100 square kilometres in 1900 to about 1200 km2 and about 500km2 respectively at the end of the period.
Getting back to the details given in the table, Brazilians consumed significantly more water per person than people from Democratic Republic of Congo (259 cubic metres, 8 cubic metres). It could be noticed that irrigated land was enourmously bigger in Brazil than in Democratic Republic of Congo, 26500 square kilometres and 100 square kilometres respectively.
