A cursory glance at the diagram is enough to make it clear that the birth rates in China and the USA saw a significant decrease throughout the period shown.
According to the chart, China’s birth rate in 1920 was 10%. After that, this figure slightly increased to approximately 20% in 1935 then fall again to 10% in 1930. Following that, this number considerably rose to exactly 15% in 1935. However, this figure witnessed a substantial fall to 5% in 1940 then it levelled off at this point until 1945. Nonetheless, after this period, it sharply ascended and reached the highest point at 20% in 1950. Finally, this number rapidly declined to nearly 20% in 2000.
As can be seen from the diagram, the maternity rate in the USA and China had the same trend during the period from 1920 to 1930, both at about 10%. Nevertheless, this figure slightly fluctuated around 11% until 1940. Thereafter, there was a dramatic drop in the rate of birth in the USA to less than 5% in 1945. In addition, it experienced a rapid climb to 15% in 1950. Throughout the remainder of the period. This number fell gradually to nearly 7% in 2000.
