The line graph illustrates how the birth rates of China and the USA varied in the period of 80 years. Overall, two nations experienced a similar pattern most of the times and the highest percentage recorded was seen in 1955.
Starting with China, in 1920, the percentage of birth rate in this country was 10% which is lower than its counterpart, after that the figure increases slightly to about 12% in 1925 before returning to the former proportion in 1930. Five years later, after reach its first peak with 15%, this rate witnessed a sharp fall to 5% in 1940 and remained stable to 1945. The highest figure was seen in 1950 with 20% and there is a significant decrease to about 2% in the final year.
Moving to the USA, around 12% was the percentage of birth rate in 1920. From 1925 to 1940, this figure fluctuated and hit the trough in 1945 with nearly 6% before peaking at over 14% five years later. In the remaining period, a rapid downward trend was seen in the proportion of birth rate in this country to around 6% in 2000.
