The graph shows the fluctuation of fertility in China and the USA during the period from 1992 to 2000. It is obvious that both nations had significant changes in the birth rate during that time, with lows in 1940s and highs in 1950.
From approximately 10% in 1920, the birth rates in China fluctuated and reach 15% in 1935 and then decreased rapidly to 5% in 1940s. After that period, the rates gradually increased and reach the peek of 20% in 1950, following by a period of decline.
There was a vary in the birth rates from 1920 to 1935 in the USA, from about 11% to 13% respectively. The birth rates then went down rapidly from 1935 and reach only 5% in 1945. Prior to 1950, the rates raise slowly and got the highest at 1950, which was 15%. The latter half century, the birth rates in the USA was reduce to about 7% in 2000.
