The graph below compares the weekly wages by age and gender in the united states in 2015
The given bar chart compares the weekly salaries of American men and women categorized in five age groups in 2015.
Overall, it can be seen that the weekly wages of males increased gradually until the age of 45-54, where they stabilized at around $1000 per week. Women's weekly wages rise dramatically in the first two age brackets, but then they were steady with a slight decrease as women aged.
To begin with, comparing the two sexes' earnings, women's wages were significantly lower than men's. More specifically, men in the 16-24 age group earned as much as $62 more than women. The (25-34) year-old age bracket also showed a substantial difference with men earning $771 per week, while females earned much less at $669 weekly. Likewise, the salaries were again disparate between the genders in the (34-44) year-old category, with women earning around $200 less than men. While men continued to earn more in the (45-54) year old age group, women's wages experienced a slight decrease, so that there was a $200 difference between the two sexes. Lastly, men and women aged 55 or older earned more than $700 per week with men's disparity.
