The bar graph given helps us understand how the Australian children are spending their free time by giving insights into the activities taken up during it for girls and boys aged between 5-14 years.
The percentage of kids is shown against five activities namely, Skateboarding, bike riding, watching TV, playing video games, and art and craft.
Most of the boys and girls prefer watching tv or videos followed by electronics and computer games. Among the physical activities, bike riding, amounting over 70% in boys and about 60 % in girls takes precedence over skateboarding and rollerblading which barely touches 40 % in boys and just over 20% in girls.
As one looks over the choices regarding creative activities like art and craft, girls dominate boys with a difference of more than 20%. The trend, however, reverses as more than 80% of boys chose to spend time playing video games compared to about 60% of the opposite gender. One can also conclude that more boys are up for physical activity whereas their counterparts are more interested in being creative.
