The line graph compares Japan, Colombia and Myanmar in terms of their clothing exports value over a 4-year period, starting from 1999.
Overall, it is evident that while Colombia and Myanmar registered an increase in their clothing exports rates, the opposite was true for Japan. It is also patently obvious that the trend for Myanmar exports was extremely volatile, compared to slight fluctuations in the rate of Japan and Colombia.
Japan was the largest clothing exporter in 1999, with around 580 million dollars, roughly 100 million higher than Colombia. By contrast, clothing exports in Myanmar was non-existent. However, just a year after, Myanmar saw an exponential surge in clothing exports, reaching 800 million dollars in 2000, far exceeding other countries. Meanwhile, Colombia and Japan showed inverse trends, with the former increasing and the latter decreasing to export clothing of roughly 530 million dollars worth in 2000.
From then on, Myanmar continued its rising trend, peaking at nearly 950 million dollars before plummeting and recovering slightly to 450 million dollars in the last year. Unlike Myanmar, clothing exports of Columbia kept rising, overtaking Japan in 2000 and reaching 700 million in 2002. Despite dipping slightly in the last year to 600 million dollars, Colombia still accounted for the largest amount of clothing exports. Figures for Japan, in the meantime, fell gradually to 500 million in 2003, despite a small growth during 2000-2001.
