The graph below shows the acid level in mouth from consumption of sugar and honey. Eating sweet food produces acid in the mouth, which can cause tooth decay.
The given line graph revels the information about the change in acidity of the mouth after the consumption of sweet products like fruit sugar, cane sugar and honey as acid inside the mouth lead to tooth decay.
It can be seen that after consumption of sweet products within 5 minutes there is dramatically decline in the PH value of mouth. Cane sugar has the maximum acidity with PH of 3.5, following by fruit sugar of PH 4.25 and honey at 4.85 PH level. In addition to this, both cane sugar and fruit sugar shows the similar trend. Fruit sugar has reached to amphoteric state after 34 minutes, whereas cane sugar has reached after 40 minutes. Moreover, fruit sugar and cane sugar cross the barrer of PH for tooth decay after 19 and 32 minutes respectively.
Moving further, there has been stability in PH value of mouth from 5 minute to 10 minute after consumption of honey. Apart from this, there is sharp rise in PH value cross the danger zone of tooth decay after 13 minutes and has reached to normal PH value of mouth after 25 minutes.
Overall, it is evident that there is drop in PH value of mouth after consumption of sweet product and acidity become normal after some time, but cane sugar consume maximum time on the other hand, honey takes the least time.
