Essay topics:

The graph below shows the average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph below illustrates the data about the average amount of carbon dioxide emissions per person in the four countries, including the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal, from 1967 to 2007. In general, Britain is the country where the amount of carbon dioxide emitted per person accounted for the largest proportion.
It could be easily observed from the line chart that the emission of carbon dioxide in the UK significantly decreased during the period 1967-2007, from approximately 11 to nearly 9 metric tonnes. About Sweden, in the first 10 years, the rate considerably increased to 10 metric tonnes in 1977 before experiencing a remarkable fall by almost 3 tonnes in 1987. From 1987 on, this trend continued and therefore resulted in the variation of positions.
In comparison with the figures of the amount of carbon dioxide discharged by UK and Sweden, that of Italy and Portugal were completely different. Both Italy and Portugal had a regular increased and both reached its peak in 2007 with roughly 8 tonnes and 6 tonnes, respectively.
