The graph below shows average carbon dioxide ( CO2 ) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The line chart gives information about how much carbon dioxide a person emitted in four different countries in the world from 1967 to 2007.
It is clear that the amount of CO2 in Italy and Portugal saw a moderate increase during 40 years, the opposite was true for the last 2 nations. It is also notable that the English emitted the most CO2 at the beginning of the period.
In 1967, under 2 metric tonnes of Co2 was discharged in Portugal compared to over 4 tonnes in Italy. From the year 1967 onwards, both 2 countries witnessed a gradual rise before standing at nearly 6 and 8 tonnes for Portugal and Italy respectively. During the next 10 years, the amount of carbon dioxide grew up slightly while that in Italy remained stable at about 7.9 tonnes in 2007.
Looking at the other countries, the British emitted the most deal of CO2, at more than 10 tonnes in comparison with only 9 tonnes in Sweden. During the next 30 years, the average number of CO2 emissions in UK saw a continuous decline by 1.5 tonnes. At the same time, the amount of CO2 reached the highest point at over 10 tonnes in 1977, flowed by a significant decrease till the end of the beginning.
