The Graph below shows average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kindom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The following line graph illustrates average carbon dioxide emissions for a person in four western countries.
As the graph illuminates, the amounts of carbon dioxide emissions in italy and Portugal have risen steadily; by contrast, the figures for these amounts in uk and Sweden have seen a constant fall, with a decade-long exception for Sweden.
In 1967, as the graph clearly shows, uk has the highest amount of carbon dioxide emissions for a person with this amount reaching 11 metric tons. Sweden, italy and Portugal are the second, third and the fourth countries in terms of carbon dioxide emissions with amounts exceeding 8, 4, and 1 metric tons, respectively. However, a decade later, the trend started to transform slowly with a smooth fall in the amount of carbon dioxide emissions in the uk. Afterwards, the figure for uk went down to almost 8 metric tons in 2007. Similarly, the figure for Sweden saw a decline in the amount but very sharply and met the slowly-rising figure for Portugal in 2007, which had as low amounts as 5.5 metric tons of carbon dioxide emission in 2007. italy, in a same manner, confronted a slighter rise, in a comparison to the previous decade, and remained relatively stable in the last decade producing 8 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
