The line graph illustrates the average amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) released by per person in four different countries from 1967 to 2007.
In 1967, the maximum CO2 emission was caused by the United Kingdom with around 10.5 metric tonnes while Sweden had almost double the amount of Italy with over 8 metric tonnes. Also, Portugal had the lowest CO2 emission with just under 2 metric tonnes.
After one decade, the CO2 emission of Sweden reached a peak of over 10 metric tonnes but after that, the value had decreased until 2007 with around 5 metric tonnes. Meanwhile, even though the value of Sweden remained stable in 1977, then it decreased slightly over the period.
Regarding the graph, Italy and Portugal had a similar rising trend during the period. Firstly their numbers of emission started to increase before reaching a plateau in 1967 to 2007 with having around 8 metric tonnes and 5 metric tonnes respectively.
To sum up, in 40 years, the major resource of C02 emission stayed the same even though the other countries showed some fluctuations.
