The pie charts demonstrate the information about the percentage of the energy integrated from different sources in a country from 1985 to 2003.
Overall, it was clear that the rate of oil production was the highest percentage for both years compared to the other energy sources.
In 1985, more than half of the energy production was from oil at 52%, while nuclear energy stood second contributing at 22%. Besides that, natural gas and coal accounted for 13% and 8%. The remaining 5% was from hydrogen and other renewable.
Oil remained as the biggest contributor with under half of the total energy produced in 2003 and this figure decreased by 13% when compared to 1985 and nuclear power also decreased slightly by 5% in 2003. On top of that, coal and natural gas together established almost half of the country’s energy in 2003. When other renewables went up to 3% in 2003 and the energy of hydrogen contributed remained the same at 4%.
