The graph shows the differences of consumption in fish and some kinds of meat in a European country over a period of 25 years.
In 1979, it is clear that beef was by far the most meat eat by European in this country, consumed around 220 grams per person. The consumption of chicken and lamb shows a similar level, marginally over 150 grams and slightly under 150 grams in 1979, respectively. But just few years later, the figure of chicken overtook the figure of lamb and the gap was increased further in the rest period. The consumption of fish was the smallest one, around 60 grams per person.
In spite of some fluctuation, the consumption of chicken saw a dramatic rise to about 250 grams per person in 2004. By contrast, the figure of beef dipped rapidly from about 240 grams in 1983 to only 100 grams in 2004, after rose almost 20 grams in the previous 4 years. A similar down trend was indicated for lamb, showing a decrease of about 90 grams from1979 to 2004. While the figure of fish fell to approximately 50 grams in 1983 and remained at this level for the rest years.
Overall, chicken and beef were the more favorite meat in the European country, and the consumption of lamb and fish shown a fewer level.
