The given line graph indicates the proportion of first-year instructors who were hired to teach English and French in Ontario from 2001 to 2007. As can be seen from the graph, the percentage of French educators experienced an upward trend whereas an opposite pattern was true for the counterpart. Also of note is that more French language instructors succeed in finding jobs since 2003.
It is evident that at the beginning of the surveyed period, the figure for the recruitment rate of first-year instructors majoring in English stood at above 70%, followed by a plummet over the following two years before reaching a plateau at 40% in 2003. Afterwards, it witnessed a minimal climb to approximately 44% in the next two years . Thereafter, there existed a significant decline by about 16% in the rate of English educators who were employed in Ontario during the remaining time.
In contrast, there was a slight increase in the employment of first-year teachers in French. It saw a marked dip by of nearly 20% after standing at 70% in 2001. In the following year, there was a notable growth to approximately 69% in the figure of French language educators in Ontario, followed by a continuous oscillation around 70% during the remaining part of the investigated period when it reached the peak of 73% in 2007.
