The graph below shows Long-Term International Migration in UK, 1999-2008.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Given is a chart illustrating the amount of two types of migration in UK as well as the net of immigrants for a period of ten years from 1999 to 2008.
Overall, more and more people chose to move to Great Britain for a new life in the period given while the figure of emigration slightly climbed as well, despite the number of former was always considerably higher than the latter. Meanwhile, the total of net immigration ranged from 100,000 to 200,000 over ten years.
With respects to the immigrants, the number of that reached a peak in 2006, which accounted for precisely 600,000 people a year. In comparison, the figure of the emigrants peaked a high point in 2008 (slightly over 400,000 people a year). Something interesting was that the number of both two types of migrants was the lowest in 1999, exactly the beginning of the period (around 300,000 people and just over 450,000 people respectively).
It could also been seen from the graph that the net amount of immigrants in 2004 was the highest, compared to that in 2003, which was the lowest (about 250,000 and slightly under 150,000 respectively).
