The graph below gives information about car ownership in Britain from 1971 to 2007.
Given is a line chart illustrating the percentage of British family owned different number of vehicles in Great Britain for a period of 35 years from 1971 to 2007.
Overall, the percentage of households that occupied only one car was considerably higher than all other situations during the period given whereas that number was the least for families who used more than two cars at the same time. Meanwhile, it was interesting to note that the proportion of households who did not have any car dramatically fell.
In 2007, the percentage of English families who owned one car claimed the greatest at around 45 percent, and was almost double the figure of families who occupied two cars ranked at the second (at about 25 percent). However, It could be seen that the latter was only at just under 10 percent 35 years ago but the former was already nearly 45 percent.
Besides, the percentage of British families who had no car dramatically decreased and reached a low in 2006 at approximately 25 percent, the figure was exactly a half lower compared to that (just under 50 percent) in 1971, while the ratio of households chose to have more than two cars slightly went up to just over five percent in 2007.
