The graph shows the changes in number of library books read by boys and girls at Starmouth School from 2011 to present.
According to the graph, there were different trends over a six-year period. However, there has been almost a slight rise in numbers between 2011 and 2015.
Looking in more detail, it can be seen that during the first-four years, there were a dramatically rise from 2011 to 2015, from about 25 to 100 by girls. However, boys start off reading more books than girls, the pattern increased gradually, so the numbers similarly reached 100 in 2015. Between 2015 and 2017, although the number of books which have been read by boys have surprisingly declined to 80 in 2017, there were a significant increase in numbers for girls, reaching 140 in 2017.
Overall, there has been an extreme upward trend in number of books rates which are read by female students. Even though male students read more books between 2011 and 2015, interestingly, they have been getting away from girls in recent years.
