The line graph below illustrates the tourist count (measured in millions) visiting a specific Caribbean Island for over 7 years from 2010 to 2017. The number of visitors is further divided into two categories, which are, visitors staying on the island and visitors staying on the cruise.
Overall, the total number of tourists has increased significantly over the years starting from 1 million in 2010 to 3.5 million in 2017. Initially, in 2010, the visitors staying on island outnumber the visitors staying on cruise, but towards the end in 2017, the trend is reversed.
The number of tourists who stayed on the island, rose slightly till 2012 (from approximately 0.75million to over 1 million), after which it had plateaued. From 2015 to 2017 a fluctuation can be seen. While, the visitor count on the cruise has climbed up steadily, reaching 2 million visitors in the year 2017.
The total number of tourists who took a trip to a Caribbean Island has gone up in a gradual trend. In the first five years (2010-2015), the visitor count has gone up slightly every year, after which in 2016 it had stabilized. From 2016 to 2017, there was dramatic increase of visitors by over 1 million.
