The graph below shows the percentage change in place where students lived over five decade.
The percentage of students living in four different places is presented in the bar chart from 1960s to 2000s.
Obviously, the percentage of student living in a shared house rose, while those with guest, in the residence hall and house decreased. Most students prefered to live in a shared house.
Initially, students living in a shared-house stood at 35%, making to the same with those in a host family, and students living in residence hall had the similar percentage with own family at 15% . By 2000s, a significant increase had been seen in shared-house's trend, reaching the highest percentage at 70%, leaving widened gap among others. However, the percentage of students living in residence hall had been showed as a slight decrease as with own family of around 3%.
In 1970s, the figure for a shared house rose to 40% before this reached a peak at around twofold, coming first in each year, while those for living in residence hall were recorded at 20%, then those fluctuated to around 13%. The percentage of students living with guest fell dramatically at almost sixfold, and those with house own family showed a significant decrease 10% before those leveled off to 5%, hitting a low in the end of the year.
