The graph below shows the percentage change in places where students lived over five decades.
The graph illustrates the change in student's living accomodations during 5 years period (from 1960s to 2000s)
At the beginning of the period, the amount of students sharing hall or flat with friends is approximately the same as those who paying guest with a host family. but in the following periods, these two groups
show
a big contrast. The former makes a breakthrough in growth rate while the later is gradually becoming lower and lower. In the 1960s, there are about 35% students share living places with friends and in the 2000s, this figures touch a peak point at 70%. In the 1960s, the students paying guest with a host family is also 35% but in the end, it falls down to over 10%
During the survey time, students living in hall of residence and those who decide to stay at home with their family seem to have the same proportion. At the starting point, both of these groups share the same percentage of 15% and ultimately, they end up with over 10 % togetther. Although from the 1960s to 2000s, they
show
some fluctuations but the difference is at an acceptable level.
Overall, the graph illustrates the highest proportion of students sharing flat with friends and worst at ones living at home or hall of residence. these statistics justify that there is a great deal of students who comes from remote or others areas. these young people prefer staying with friends to living alone as they are less of convenience than students having their family in here.
