The graph below shows in percentage terms the changing patterns of domestic access to more than technology in homes in the UK.

This line graph below illustrates us comparison of four nominal data, the changing patterns of mobile phone, CD player, Internet access and home computer in homes of the UK on an interval scale between 1996 and 2003.

Overall, it is obvious that all accesses had a gradual rise between 10 and 80 percent from 1996 to 2003 years. Mobile phone is reported as the most dramatic change among other accesses over the period.

In 1996/97 the access of home computer to modern technology was about 23 percent and had a gradual rise up to almost 58 percent by 2003 year, while the access of mobile phone was just under 20 percent and had a significant growth over 60 percent. It is clearly seen that between 1999 and 2000 years, an access of mobile phone fluctuated slightly from around 30 percent to over 40 percent and exceeded an access of home computer for 3 percent.

In terms of CD player, in 1999 it had the highest percentage (60%) and grew steadily up to 83 percent by 2000. By contrast, internet access appeared only in 1999 and rose considerably up to 43 percent. Although, the Internet access is reported as the lowest in the graph, it had an increase for 20 percent in comparison with CD player which rose for only for 10 percent between 1999 - 2003 years.
