Overall, an increase in population was experienced in both India and China, however, as predicted, China will remain constant for a decade from 2020 to 2030, as it will have a gradual fall, afterwards. While, India will continue to have a growth in population up to 2050, as forecasted. Comparatively, China had a larger population from 2000, above India and will continue up to 2030, when it is predicted to decline below its counterpart.
As shown on the chart, China had a larger population in 2000, at 1250 billion people. A gradual increase of about 10% with each passing decade was witnessed. As predicted that from 2020, a steady increase will be experienced and remain unchanged up to 2030. It is forecasted that, from 2030 a slight decline in population growth will be experienced to around 1400 billion in 2050. In addition, it is predicted that the population of China will reach its peak in mid 2020s at about 1450 billion people.
On the other hand, India had a population of 1000 billion people in 2000. A significant increase of about 10% increase was witnessed. Prospectively, it will continue to increase above China in 2030, at 1450 billion people. Furthermore, it will continue to fluctuate until 2050, when it reach its peak at 1600 billion people.
Comparatively, China had a higher population which almost doubled India in 2000. Thereafter, India experienced significant increase in population growth, whilst its counterpart had a steady increase. However, these two nations will have equal population growth and China will experience a slight decline, while, India continue to rise steadily, as predicted.
