The line graph below gives information about the quantities of goods transported in the UK between 1974 and 2002 by four different modes of transport. Divided by four categories such as road, water, rail, and pipeline. Overall, the chart of each type is varied. At the first glance it is evident that the most popular is road goods transported in UK with among 70 million tonnes.

As can be seen from the chart, all categories were going up and down. In 1978, goods transport by using rail and water stood at 40 million tonnes which pipeline transport still in under 20 million tonnes. The goods which transport by pipeline, water and road were going to raised up until 1990. Between all categories, rail transportation was fluctuated from 1978 until 2002. Before 1986, people in UK used rail were decreasing for shipment goods.

However, after 1998 the usability of some transportation like road, water, and railway were actively.
With the expectation of reading, they were increased dramatically but the highest was road transportation reach almost 100 million tonness. Otherwise, pipeline transportation remained constant among 20 million tonnes until over 2002
