The graph below shows the satisfaction rating of the staff in four colleges from 1991 to 2002
The line chart depicts the proportions of satisfied employees in four tertiary institutions in the
period of 1991-2002. Overall, the main characteristic of the graph is the considerable fluctuations
in the figures.
The most evident feature of the chart is the change in the rank of the contentment percentage in
College C. Dwindling from the lowest of the graph at just under 30 per cent to 10 per cent in 1998,
this figure then rocketed, outstripping the numbers for the other colleges in 1999 prior to slowly
peaking at 80 per cent in the last three years.
Another outstanding point is the convergence and divergence between the satisfaction rates in
College A and College B, as they varied in opposite directions around 70 per cent and 55 per cent,
respectively, remaining as the two highest numbers in the first seven years before the latter
surpassed the former. The number for College A finally dropped to 40 per cent while the other rose
slowly to 70 per cent.
A final feature to note is the stability in staff satisfaction rate of College D, which ranked third
around 40 per cent for most of the given period before it halved to the lowest position in the last
three years.
