In 1995, the most significant figure in spending books was Germany, which accounted for 80 million, followed by France, Italy and Austria with the figures standing at 55, 50, and 30 million respectively. After Germany continued its rising trend in 1999, they witnessed a downward trend at 85 million in 2003 before reaching a peak of nearly 100 million in 2005.
In the remaining countries regard as France, Italy and Austria. The figure for France showed a steady growth in the following years, which stayed at 75 million in 2005. Likewise, Austria rose moderately from 1995 to 2001, then it made a great stride in later years and accounted for over 70 million in 2005. However, in the case of Italy, it witnessed a fluctuating increase from 55 million in 1997 to about 60 million in 2005.
