Essay topics:

The graph shows data about the average Saturday sales of two bakeries in London in 2010.

The graph compares the number of some popular items sold in two bakeries located in London on a typical Saturday. It illustrates the average sales of eight items including doughnuts, toasted sandwiches and cakes at Lovely Loaves and Bernie’s Buns in 2010.

Overall, it can be seen that Bernie’s Buns was the busiest bakery on a Saturday outselling Lovely Loaves in 6 out of 8 items. Interestingly, savory snacks such as fresh loaves, salads and crisps are not as popular as sweet items like cookies and rolls.

First of all, regarding the sales of Bernie’s Buns, doughnuts were the number one purchase with almost 140 items sold every Saturday. It was followed by cookies and cakes, selling around 115 and 105 respectively. Savory foods are less popular. Bernie’s Buns sold nearly as many crisps as rolls, leaving the shelves at approximately 75. Then, at the bottom of the list were toasted sandwiches and salads with just 25 and 18 sales in turn.

On the other hand, doughnuts were also the best-seller of Lovely Loaves with 120 items sold on average. Cakes were ranked second with almost 80 sales, after which cookies came next with 70. Salads were sold over 60, three times as many were sold in Bernie’s Buns. Next, rolls and fresh loaves were joint-fifth with nearly 50 sales. To conclude, the least sold item was toasted sandwiches with just above 20 items.
