Essay topics:

The graph shows the information about the number of marriages in the UK from 1951 to 2001.

The line graph illustrates the number of first and remarriages in comparison to all kinds of marriages in the UK in a period of six years.
Overall, it is clear that first marriages showed a downward trend throughout the time frame, which was opposite to an upward trend that can be seen in the remarriage rate. Marriages of all different types in the UK fluctuated and decreased at the end of the period.
In 1951, the figure for remarriage couples was the lowest one out of all, at 150000 while a significant difference was witnessed in ones whom first-time got married and the total number of marriages, which stood at 350000 and 400000 respectively. People who remarried in 1961 and 1971 declined at an unnoticeable level but then rose steadily until reaching its peak at 200000 in 2001.
Those who got married the first time had a small increase, however quickly plunged by approximately 60000 1999 before hitting its lowest point, at 250000 in the last year. All marriages figures bottomed at around 370000 in 2001 after being violently volatile from 1961 to 1971.
